Generally, to become a candidate for application to UK schools needs registration ahead of 1 or more years. Sometimes, students may miss the best registration point, and has to finish their preparation during a compressive time of several months. So how to prepare for the exam in an orderly way?
To answer that, we're going to share the story of Leo, whose experiences might be helpful for applicants facing similar difficulties.

Final choice: Dean Close Senior School
What challenges are you going to deal with?
Leo has his own thoughts and opinions, with a wide range of interests and hobbies. He didn't like the Chinese teaching system. He found no challenges in domestic school he then studied in and had no intention to prepare for the coming high school entry exam in China at the expense of his hobby time. So he approached to BE, seeking help from us to prepare him for overseas school application. At that point, it was nearly the March time of 2017.
Obviously, it was a bit late. He had to go through with the list-making difficulty.
Almost full place
At that time, the first round of admission of UK schools was over and the second round was about to begin. In fact, there're quite a few places left. After several sessions of consultation, Nicole, our tutor at BE, based on his academic level and language ability, advised Leo to apply to Sherborne School, Wycliffe College and Bede's Senior School.
When Nicole asked Dean Close School if there were any place left, she was given a negative answer. But she didn't give up and tried again one week later. This time, she got a positive one.
Tips：When you miss the best registration period, keep a close contact with the school to get updated on a new place. One week could also make a difference.
Underperforming English language ability
Leo was underperforming in English. He had clear thinking, though with poor grammar knowledge. To get into a UK school successfully, he needed to work on English wording, punctuating, capitalizing, etc.
Leo's tutor at BE helped him to improve his grammar. After tuition for some time, Leo's writing skills were improved greatly. To finish an organized, well-structured statement, he used only a few weeks.
Insufficient preparation due to lack of time
Despite that Leo had given up his studies at the local school and taken full-time class in BE, he had only one week to prepare for the UKIset expected by Sherborne School. Even though both Leo and our tutor had all tried their best, Leo still failed in meeting the school's academic requirements.
So when applying to Dean Close, Nicole kept a constant communication with the school, trying to buy some time for Leo. She finally requested two more weeks for him, which meant a lot for his preparation. The exam results turned out well, explaining why he gained the offer letter from Dean Close without an interview. In April, he also got the offer from Bede's Senior School.
Leo eventually chose to go to Dean Close School for the September term.
Advice from overseas study expert at BE： It is recommended to set aside enough time for school application. An offer letter is still accessible if you miss the best registration point, but with high risk.
